Day 1 – Arrival in Ulaanbaatar
- Welcome to Mongolia! Upon arrival at Chinggis Khaan International Airport, meet your Travel Buddies driver and transfer to your hotel in the city center.
- Enjoy the rest of the day free to relax or explore Ulaanbaatar — visit Sukhbaatar Square, Gandan Monastery, or local cafés and shops.

Day 2 – Drive to Tsagaan Suvarga (White Stupa)
- After breakfast, meet your guide and driver to begin your overland journey to the south. Cross the wide grasslands of Middle Gobi, stopping en route for photos and lunch at a roadside café.
- Arrive in the afternoon at Tsagaan Suvarga (White Stupa) — a spectacular limestone escarpment eroded by wind and rain into colorful formations resembling ancient city walls. Take a gentle walk along the ridge to admire the panoramic desert views.
- Settle into your ger camp and enjoy your first evening in the Gobi under a sky full of stars.

Day 3 – Dalanzadgad Museum & Yolyn Am Gorge
- After breakfast, continue toward South Gobi Province. Stop in Dalanzadgad, the provincial capital, and visit the Natural History Museum — a fascinating collection of fossils, dinosaur bones, and local culture.
- The highlight is the dinosaur exhibition and stories of early 20th-century paleontological expeditions in the Gobi.
- In the afternoon, drive into Gobi Gurvansaikhan National Park and hike through Yolyn Am (Vulture’s Gorge) — a 5 km trail that winds between towering rock walls where ice often lingers until midsummer. Return to your camp for dinner and rest.

Day 4 – Khongor Sand Dunes & Camel Ride
- After breakfast, drive across the desert plains toward the Khongoryn Els Sand Dunes, the longest dune belt in Mongolia, stretching for over 180 km.
- Visit a camel herder family, learn about their way of life, and enjoy a 1-hour camel ride on the two-humped Bactrian camels native to the Gobi. Later, climb the Duut Mankhan (Singing Dune) — a 250 m high ridge that emits a humming sound when the sand moves. Watch the sunset from the dune crest and return to camp for dinner.

Day 5 – Khavtsgait Petroglyphs & Flaming Cliffs
- Leave the camp early and drive across Gobi Gurvansaikhan Mountain Range to reach Khavtsgait Petroglyphs, an ancient open-air gallery of Bronze Age carvings depicting ibex, camels, and hunters.
- Take a 30-minute uphill walk to the site and enjoy the sweeping views of the desert below.
- Continue to the legendary Flaming Cliffs (Bayanzag) — where dinosaur eggs were first discovered in 1923.Explore the red sandstone formations glowing under the afternoon sun and photograph the dramatic landscape.

Day 6 – Ongi Monastery Ruins
- After breakfast, drive north across the semi-desert landscape to the Ongi Monastery Ruins, located along the Ongi River.

- Walk through the ruins and visit the small local museum to learn about its history and restoration.
- Relax by the riverside camp this evening.

Day 7 – Drive to Orkhon Valley & Nomadic Family Homestay
- Leave the desert behind as the terrain changes to grassy steppes and rolling hills. Along the way, visit Temeen Chuluun Deer Stones, ancient carved steles dating back to Mongolia’s Bronze Age, and stop at Uurtiin Tohoi, a stunning viewpoint overlooking the Orkhon River valley.
- By afternoon, reach the Orkhon Waterfall, a UNESCO World Heritage site, formed by volcanic eruptions and ancient lava flows. Arrive at your nomadic family homestay, meet your hosts, and experience herder life. Help milk cows, taste homemade dairy products, and share stories over a traditional dinner.

Day 8 – Horse Riding & Tuvkhun Monastery
- Enjoy a morning 2-hour horse ride along the Orkhon River, followed by lunch at your camp or with the family.In the afternoon, drive to Tuvkhun Monastery, one of Mongolia’s most sacred sites founded in the 17th century by Zanabazar, the first spiritual leader of Mongolian Buddhism.
- From the base, take a 3 km hike (1.5 hrs) uphill through pine forest to reach the mountaintop monastery. Visit meditation caves and temples while enjoying sweeping views of the Khangai Mountains.
- Return to your ger camp for dinner and rest.

Day 9 – Kharkhorin & Erdene Zuu Monastery
- Drive to Kharkhorin, the 13th-century capital of the Mongol Empire. Visit Erdene Zuu Monastery, the oldest surviving Buddhist monastery in Mongolia, surrounded by 108 white stupas. Explore its active temples and ancient artworks, then continue to the Karakorum Museum to learn about the Mongol Empire’s rise and Silk Road connections.

Day 10 – Hustai National Park & Wild Horses

Visit the park’s information center, then take an evening drive into the park to observe Takhi herds, red deer, marmots, and eagles.

In the evening, enjoy a traditional folk concert by the Tumen Ekh Ensemble featuring throat singing, long-song, and folk dance, followed by a farewell dinner.

Outside the capital, most nights are spent in tourist ger camps — the signature accommodation of Mongolia’s countryside. These camps are situated near natural attractions such as sand dunes, cliffs, waterfalls, and monasteries. Each ger (traditional felt yurt) provides:- Twin beds with clean linens and bedding (extra beds available on request)
- A small table, chairs, and simple décor reflecting nomadic tradition
- Shared hot showers and Western-style toilets in a separate building
