DAY 1: Elsen Tasarkhai, Small Gobi

This morning Travel Buddies guide and driver will pick you up from the accommodation and head Mongol sand dune, extended 80km displaying a taste of the Gobi Desert, with an impressive combination of steppe and Gobi desert. Once in the park, marvel at the sand dune and granite mountain visiting a ruin of the Buddhist temple. Afterwards, we will meet our host nomad family and ride camel for an hour across the sand dune. Overnight in tourist Ger camp (2 people share Yurt with single beds, shower/bathroom in a separate building). Accommodation: Tourist Ger camp | Meals: L, D | Distance: 260km-5 hours

DAY 2: Explore the Former Capital & Erdenezuu Monastery

After breakfast, drive to the Kharakhorum, a site of the 13th century Mongolian capital. Learn from history of Mongolian Buddhism visiting the first Buddhist monastery called Erdenezuu. Hike in huge walls of 108 Buddhist stupas and take photographs of temples. Enjoy lunch in the town and move to the next attraction; Kharkhorum museum. Reveal mind-blowing facts and exploration of the ancient states situated in Mongolian landscapes. DAY 3: Legends of Khorgo-Terkh N.P

In the morning, we will pass by Tsetserleg town which is small and well-structured. We will visit Chuluut River, which flows in the gorge formed of lava of the nearby extinct volcano such as Khorgo and others. Moreover visit Khorgo-terkh national park, which consists of Khorgo volcano and the White Lake. Walk up to the crater of an Extinct Khorgo volcano. Lastly, we will arrive in White Lake created by volcanic eruption. Hike around the lake and stay in tourist Ger camp (2 people share Yurt with single beds, shower/bathroom in a separate building). DAY 4: Marvel at Khar Nuur - Fresh Water Lake

Ulaagchiin Khar Lake in Zavkhan is a hidden gem of western Mongolia and protected area. The lake is surrounded by beautiful Tovhish mountain and cliffs and northern shoreline with sand dunes and southern shoreline with reed. There are three islands with migrant birds nests. It is a home of 13 different species birds, wild animals and fishes. Hike through the sand dunes and shore of the lake. Stay overnight in tented camping. DAY 5: Senjit Rock Formation - Muhar Shivert River Dune

Leaving the Khar lake, we head Mongol els state protected area with 300km long sand dune steppe that offers natural wonders such as Senjit rock formation and Muhar Shivert. Driving mountain pass brings us to Senjit; iconic 1 km long granite rock wall with natural gate at 2700 meters above sea level. As we get through the gate, it offers spectacular view over jaw-dropping sand dunes. Arrive in incredible oasis surrounded by 400m massive sand dune with river flowing, bushwood and trees with wild fruits. It is a water source for hundreds of herds grazing in desert landscape. Enjoy a walk through sand dune, sand dune sliding and river crossing. Stay overnight in tented camping. Accommodation: Tent camping | Meals: B, L, D | Distance: 50km

DAY 6: Lake Khyargas

Today we head Uvs province; popular for its massive snow-capped mountain and lake basins. The landscape is no longer sand dune and hills offering warm weather but snow capped mountain with mild air. We arrive at lake Khyargas; a salt lake and home of migrating birds with several islands. Bright cliff islands with ocean air reminds ones sea. Overnight in tented camping. Accommodation: Tent camping | Meals: B, L, D | Distance: 350km

DAY 7: Ulgii town - city tour

Leaving Uvs province, we travel to neighbor province Bayan-Ulgii; a home of eagle hunters and Kazakh ethnic groups. Upon arrival, visit the main square, museum and outdoor market-bazaar. Enjoy Turkish meal in one of the best restaurants in Ulgii. Overnight in a local hotel. Accommodation: Local hotel | Meals: B, L, D | Distance: 300km

DAY 8: Visit the Largest Petroglyphs in Shiveet mountain

Today we drive to Altai Tavan Bogd National Park and visit Shiveet Khairkhan sacred mountain to see the biggest rock painting site belong to the period of Huns, 200 B.C. Tented camping for overnight stay. Accommodation: Tent camping | Meals: B, L, D | Distance: 180km

DAY 9: Horse Trek / Trek to Potanian Glacier

We pack everything on horse and start the horse trekking / trekking (you may choose to trek with your day pack) to the Potanian glacier; Ice River starts from Altai tavan bogd snow peak. Crossing the bridge over white river, arrive at trailhead. Hike uphill as the trail starts to rise. The terrain is uneven and muddy in the middle. Make sure you bring waterproof trekking shoes / rain boots or get through it on horse. You may experience four season weather as ascending the mountain. Enjoy breathtaking view of 5 peaks of Mongolia in front of you after inspirational trek. Visit mountaineers base camp and walk on ice river. Tented camping for overnight stay. DAY 10: Horse Trek / Trek back to Ranger Station

Today we trek back to the white river and hike to a mountain glacier-lake. Tented camping for overnight stay. Accommodation: Tent camping | Meals: B, L, D | Distance: 18km

DAY 11: Eagle Hunter Family & Ulgii town

Today we drive back to Ulgii town via Ulaanhus town with unique landscape and snow-capped mountain Sogoog. Visit a eagle hunter Kazakh family along the way and experience lifting Golden Eagle on your arm. Stay overnight in a local hotel. Accommodation: Local hotel | Meals: B, L, D | Distance: 180km

DAY 12: Flight to UB

Take a return flight to Ulaanbaatar. Meals: B | Distance: 2,5 hours flight
