Day 1 – Arrival in Ulaanbaatar
- Welcome to Mongolia! Upon arrival at Chinggis Khaan International Airport, you’ll be met by your Travel Buddies representative and transferred to your hotel in central Ulaanbaatar. Depending on arrival time, take a short orientation walk to Sukhbaatar Square, lined with statues of Genghis Khan and grand government buildings. In the evening, enjoy a welcome briefing with your guide and fellow travelers — a perfect opportunity to discuss photography goals and local customs over dinner.

Day 2 – Fly to the Gobi Desert / Flaming Cliffs
- After breakfast, take a short domestic flight (≈1.5 hrs) to Dalanzadgad, gateway to the Gobi Desert. Meet your local driver and guide for the journey across vast steppe landscapes to the legendary Flaming Cliffs (Bayanzag). This site is world-famous for its red sandstone formations and the discovery of dinosaur fossils. Spend the afternoon hiking and photographing the cliffs as they shift colors from orange to deep crimson under the setting sun. Evening at your ensuite ger camp, where the desert sky fills with millions of stars — ideal for night photography.

Day 3 – Khongor Sand Dunes
- After breakfast, drive west to the spectacular Khongor Sand Dunes, known locally as the 'Singing Dunes' because of the deep hum the sand produces in the wind. Meet a local camel-herding family and photograph their daily routines as they tend to their herds. Later, enjoy a one-hour camel ride across the dunes for unique perspectives of the desert landscape. At sunset, climb one of the smaller dunes for panoramic photos — the changing colors of the sand at dusk are among the most magical sights in the Gobi.

Day 4 – Khongor Dunes & Nomadic Encounters
- A full day to slow down and dive deeper into nomadic desert life. Photograph herders milking camels, children running across the steppe, and families preparing traditional tea in felt gers. You’ll have time for both lifestyle portraits and wide-angle compositions that capture the vast desert backdrop. Optional early-morning or sunset hike up the dunes to photograph the sweeping ridgelines in golden light. Evening bonfire under a starlit desert sky.

Day 5 – Yolyn Am Gorge & Dalanzadgad
- Drive through the rugged landscapes of Gobi Gurvansaikhan National Park toward Yolyn Am, a dramatic canyon known for its high cliffs and occasional year-round ice formations. Take a gentle hike (2–3 km) into the gorge, with opportunities to photograph ibex, vultures, and alpine scenery — a striking contrast to the desert dunes. Afterward, visit the Dalanzadgad Museum to explore its exhibits on local culture and paleontology. Arrive at Khanbogd Ensuite Ger Camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6 – Fly to Ulaanbaatar
- After breakfast, transfer to Dalanzadgad airport for your morning flight back to Ulaanbaatar. Check in to your hotel and enjoy a relaxed afternoon. You may choose to visit the Genghis Khan Museum, explore local markets, or simply enjoy a quiet evening editing your photographs over coffee.

Day 7 – Fly to Ulgii (Western Mongolia)
- Early flight to Ulgii, capital of Bayan-Ulgii Province, home to Mongolia’s Kazakh minority. Upon arrival, meet your local Kazakh guide and driver, and check in to your hotel. In the afternoon, visit a Kazakh eagle hunter’s family, where you’ll be introduced to their centuries-old tradition of falconry. Photograph the hunter’s proud posture beside his golden eagle, their family’s colorful textiles, and daily life inside their cozy home. Dinner with your hosts — a warm introduction to Kazakh culture.

Day 8 – Eagle Hunter Photography in the Altai Mountains
- Head deep into the Altai foothills, where rolling hills rise toward the snow-capped peaks. You’ll have time for both posed portraits and candid action shots amid sweeping mountain landscapes. Lunch in the field; evening return to Ulgii for a warm local meal and photo review with your guide.

Day 9 – Morning with Eagle Hunters / Fly to Ulaanbaatar

After farewells and a short cultural presentation, transfer to the airport for your flight to Ulaanbaatar. Upon arrival, transfer to your 4★ hotel for rest or optional evening city walk.
